Then let me explain you.
"Such enrollment may be automatic or may require application being made by the eligible voter. The rules governing registration vary between jurisdictions. Some jurisdictions have "election day registration" and others do not require registration, or may require production of evidence of entitlement to vote at time of voting."
As you can see from above not all "jurisdictions" are created equal though though in the end all votes let's say in the presidential election are counted nationally.
I really don't want to go right now to the definition of jurisdiction but voting let's say for the President in the US isn't happening in the same jurisdiction?
en.wikipedia.org - Voter registration - WikipediaREPLY 21w - Since we all are a bit confused let's try and get a bit of help from raw data.
Here is a list with numbers of "registered voters" from state to state. As we can see the numbers vary. Independents are maybe 1/3 of voters in each state.
REPLY 21w - As we all know presidential elections start with the so called "primaries" in which the only two parties push their own candidate. In primaries only those registered as democrats or republican can vote.
In the end all registered voters including independents elect between the two candidates that sorted out at the end of primaries.
This whole process looks democratic or equitable to you?REPLY
